Introduction
The Employment Services team at Abilities First recognizes the self-worth of every person and their right to full participation in their local community, as they choose.

One of the greatest concerns for a parent of a child with a developmental disability is that of the child’s future. What will he do for the rest of his life? Will she be able to become a contributing member of the community? Some of those answers may take time to reveal themselves, but by offering varied work-related settings, Abilities First can offer a vocational plan that inspires and empowers people with a broad range of disabilities, providing fulfillment to our participants. Through our
School to Work program, our onsite supervised
workshop,
supported employment in the community,
work enclaves,
volunteer services and
individual job placements, we have developed a range of support that encompasses opportunities at every level. Each has the power to build on the special abilities of our program participants and provide them with the chance to earn money or participate in a work environment that results in much greater self-confidence and overall life success.
